In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Having the blind food tasting and conversations about vegetables I think had helped demystify some vegetables and normalise eating them. I think some of the non-vege lovers now realise how many veges some of their friend eat.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? We could have done more to focus on this, we definately learned some new vegetables and learned more about vegetables.
We have loved doing the Little Garden League. There has been lots of engagement with the growing, was have been working on Plants and Seeds for our topic so it fitted in wonderfully. We used the code breakers, video links, the playlist, and ideas for charting our seed germination times. I gave vegetables to random teachers to "hide" in their pockets for the "secret agents" - even the library had semi hidden veges, and deputy principal had to have a carrot in his pocket to visit! We learned lots about what seeds need to grow and why plants are important. We blind taste tested veges, and played name the vege - no-one guessed suede! Finally we are on the second tier of our tournament so need to make some time to finish that soon too.... so much to do, so much fun.

The children in my class absolutely loved this kit. They were excited to get to school each and every day to see how much their plant had grown. It opened up opportunities for us to learn about new plants and links between different life cycles.

We have absolutely loved this and are still using it. We have been growing our own vegetables at school at home. We have carried out science experiments exploring what a plant needs to grow. We have been doing Trying Thursdays where every Thursday we make something with vegetables and eat it. The children enjoyed creating different life cycle art for different vegetables. So much fun! We are actually still using it, just so much to do.

This kit was wonderful, the children enjoyed planting and watching their seeding grow. As a class we investigated what conditions plants needed to grow. The class needed to regularly care for for seedings to ensure they would continue to thrive. The class enjoyed being able to plant our seedings into the school garden when they had grown big enough and are looking forward to when they can harvest.
