How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They are using the game to learn. They loved the idea of growing the 'pop corn'.

“This kit was AMAZING! It linked to Pause, Breathe, Smile (wellbeing programme) and also to the wider community (new world little gardens). The resources were stunning and the children really go involved with the 'club house' idea. The game was successful with my class. I would absolutely do this kit again. It was nice to have a surprise kit too. I liked the online community where teachers shared resources with each other and photos for inspiration. I found the online platform very easy and instinctive to use. The children can't wait to plant their seeds in the garden and watch them grow over the summer. Thank you for the opportunity! How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They really enjoyed finding out about vegetables they had heard or tried before.

“The kids absolutely loved the whole concept. From receiving them to watching them grow. The kids wrote a daily diary and are enjoying seeing their plants growing. It also fitted in really well with our topic of sustainability. We haven’t had a chance to eat any of the produce yet as they are not ready yet. The kids are very excited and already talking about trying out new vegetables that they haven’t heard of before.”

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? More veges turning up in the lunchboxes, students sending through photos of their dinner (to show the new veges they were trying) and the Selfie Challenge, where they took photos in the supermarket with vegetables they were unfamiliar with.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Vege Patch Match is fantastic for this!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? All sorts, writing about our favourite fruit/vegetable, drawing various characters from the poster, maths: measuring the growth of our seedlings, food tech through making smoothies. So much fun!

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? We had children that didn't know what many of the vegetables were but now can identify at least 5 off the poster.

We had loads of very excited children as their seeds sprouted and we had some fabulous conversations about creatures in the garden, what helps plants grow and had some great taste testing sessions with fresh fruit, vegetables and smoothies too.
