In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Yes, there was lots of discussion about whether they have tried the vegetables and what vegetables they look forward to trying. It was great to see them make links to things they have at home, but they used their home language to name them.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They only knew a few vegetables and now they know lots more and dishes they can use the vegetables in too!
My Year 4 students loved working in groups to plant the variety of seedlings. They loved learning about the different vegetables and it went so well with our target to healthy eating! It also taught them responsibility, as they had to look after them. Thanks School Kit for this kit!

We had been growing broad beans and some of the students had not been keen to give them a go but after learning from this kit, everyone was willing to at least t
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The students enjoyed talking about all the different vegetables that we are growing. There were lots of questions related to what part of the vegetable we actually eat. It was fabulous to have such rich discussions.
The Little Garden Kit was such a fabulous way to get started with our school Māra Kai. The students really resonated with the Grow, Protect, Taste! Through our Māra Kai learning the students are so keen to work in our garden and try what we are growing.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Due to having grown these vegetables the class seems more welling to try new vegetables, especially those we have grown.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children have learned to identify many of the vegetables that have grown. They were really interested in how some plants, especially the corn, looks very different.
My class have really enjoyed watching the plants grow. There has been lots of discussion about what plants need to grow.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They are beginning to learn that vegetables grow from different parts of a plant.
Our Little Garden kit was very successful. We planted the seeds at the beginning of term 4 so that the seedlings could get continuous care. We combined the little garden unit with our shared reading book of Jack and the beanstalk. The children were very excited to see the seeds sprout and grow into little plants.

We absolutely loved our Little Garden, we are still enjoying watching the plants grow and become veggies.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Definitely increased awareness of nutrition! Not sure if it has impacted healthy eating.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Significant impact - lots of students had never heard of many of these plants and learned to identify most of them.
Our students loved this kit! So simple to plant, and so exciting to watch our plants growing and to track and compare growth. Great discussions about different vegetables, including some they'd never heard of.
