What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? With the kit in place we learnt a lot about what is needed for things to grow and went on to hatch chicks and learn about their life cycle as well. We used the seeds for measurement and looking at how big the seedlings got.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We had lots of discussions around trying new foods and the children are still been trailing new foods in our Garden to table program.

The students were able to talk about and identify some of the more common veges and were introduced to the non-common veges. It provided me with images and details that we could use to talk about veges that I would properly not if thought of introducing t
The children have really enjoyed doing the Little Garden kit. There was lots of excitement in setting up the kits and watching the plants sprout. They have enjoyed learning about the different types of veges and where they came from. They are eagerly waiting for the veges to grow further in the garden so that we can taste test them and use them in our Garden to table program.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They are very excited to hopefully be able to try their vegetbales and are proud to have grown their own food source and it also be healthy. Big positives.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The students love going up to their plant they have planted and talking about the various plants and enquiring into questions they may have about what each plant was what.
My class have loved the mny little gardens. We recieved the kit at the end of term two and planted them start of term three. They love the little garden and are so excited to watch them starting to grow. We are so thankful that we have had the oppurtunity to be apart of this learning journey.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? This kit provided many opportunities for learning. Science- planting and life cycles Writing- we wrote descriptions and instructions Maths- we talked about measurement (height) as they grew and volume when we looked at the water required.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Nutrition and healthy eating was a discussion amongst the learners. Many bought in and talked about their favourite healthy recipes that used some of the same types of veges that we were growing!
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Students can identify many of the vegetables now- more than they could prior to this unit.
This kit was great for my learners, they were all very engaged in the series of learning that we used these for.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was awesome for our kids and physically getting to see and to cub vegetables was great for them
The students really liked the community aspect of gardening. It gave students rhe opportunity/ responsibility in the classroom to look after the little gardens. The resource was easy to use. We were able to make little mini projects about different veges. They could make a choice about what they like/ don’t like. Our NIL by mouth kids can make a choice on how something smells.
