Amazing opportunity for cross curricular learning. Children have learnt to be resourceful as our peas have become floppy, they figured out that sticks and string can support them to grow. Children have enjoyed this learning and have learnt a skill that can put kai on the table.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was surprising how many vegetables children had never heard of, let alone tasted.
Room 5 had such a great time learning about plants, photosynthesis and watching their plant grow. We loved using the resources. In particular, they loved the cracking the codes, so much so, they wanted to do them again even though they had already solved them. It was neat going through the names of the plants and the kids had a real laugh when they heard their name as a vegetable.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? I discovered that many of the children in my Year 1 class didn't know what were fruits and what were vegetables. This kit provided many opportunities to have this discussion.
This is the first School Kit I have used. I have been very impressed with the resources and information I have received. It was very exciting planting and growing the seedlings. We had our student led conferences during this time. The children were very proud to bring their families into the classroom and show them what we were growing.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Lots of discussion and excitement about making a vege garden at home and more boys wanting to join our gardening club to look after the veges.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Lots of the boys could identify the more common veges, but had trouble identifying the herbs and less common ones. Using the cards to play the games and the alliteration helped with this.
Wow! My boys have loved this kit ... I had some great laughs with the vegetable jokes they came up with on their application forms. They waited in great anticipation to see if they had been accepted! They are wearing their badges with pride on their blazers and love spotting boys from other classes with the badges. Fantastic kit with lovely feedback from parents. Sorry system won't let me add any photos - coming up with error, have resized, still not working.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We were able to do an extended plant study and work in the understanding of worms in our environment and their role. As well as writing, shared reading, some maths with measurement and weight in shopping.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Great, especially with the cool character names - they even made their own names. The game was exciting and was well played!
The students loved learning about their vegetables and enjoyed the planting. The students self-managed the plants and even replanted them themselves. We have been building our understanding of kaitiaki and this fit perfectly.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? My students knew most of the vegetables except for one or two. So we were able to talk about those gaps. The kit was good. The kids liked the letterbox and badges. As far as teachhing I struggled to find a good place to start and would have preferred a few more practical lesson ideas.
