What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Had we let them grow a bit more we could have measured our success with Maths. It would also be a great link to science and what plants need in order to grow.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Lots of discussion about different kinds of vegetables, their identification and what they taste like. Would have liked to continue with a recipe book but am leaving at the end of this term.
Loved the resources and the secretive introduction. Children were totally absorbed by it! They loved the code breaking and having their own code breaker card and badge. Some great ideas provided e.g. in having visitors with a vegetable item somewhere visible on their person and vegetable jokes went down a treat. Children have been really engaged in noticing and measuring the shoots and made some great observations when viewing time lapse video clips - their confident use of associated language was a treat!

The children loved the kit, although is was quite late and I hope that they survive the holidays so we can plant them when they are big enough in the school garden. Good resources that came with the kit and online. The badges at the end will be a surprise for the class at the end... Thanks Team looking forward to doing it again next year!

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Chn are more open to try new vegetables especially as they have grown them. They have brain food each day which has to be either fruit or veges, they are beginning to try new choices and are more confident in giving it a go!
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? I did find some pictures of the vegetables and the plants that they grow on - the children had to match them so that created a lot of discussion. The video clips were great to show how the vegetables grow, especially the ones under the ground.
My class of Year 3's loved learning about the LGL. They were enthusiastic and eager to learn about different vegetables and where they grow - under, on top or along the ground. We also talked about what part of the plant that we eat. Some chn did try new vegetables that they hadn't eaten before as a result of knowing more about them. They loved planting their little pots and were so excited to check them each day to see if they had germinated! We listened to the stories on the website and particularly liked Oliver's Garden, probably as we have an Oliver in our class! The chn really enjoyed watching the time lapse clips of plants growing and the clips of the tortoise eating the fruit. The code crackers were great and they worked together to work out the message, they loved the fact that they were all part of a club and the badges were the cherry on the top. They arrived just in time and were a good way to round off the term. The chn all took their plants home today ready to plant in their own gardens and hopefully some will try their vegetables once they have grown. This was a fabulous kit with great ideas that engaged the children and they all learned something. They thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Little Garden League. Thank you so much!
