My class loved using and learning about this kit. There was a lot of excitement around learning about new vegetables and how plants grow. Every day the students would check the plants to see if there was any change.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The game was a great resource to support this learning.
Our Kōhanga was so excited to explore the contents of the box. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate during our plant unit and put into practice much of our learning. The game was superbly effective at opening up discussion around names and tastes of vegetables. We got quite competitive!

An awesome kit that aligned well with our school values on showing kaitiakitanga (guardianship) for our school environment. We loved the independence, students were able to follow the instructions to problem solve without teacher involvement. We were able to link learning across the curriculum.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We used the potting of the seeds as procedural writing 'pro-seed-ural' lol. Literacy was the only cross-curricular link for us, as well as the filling out of the application form contained in the kit.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The club was a little less engaging this time around. The badges were something a bit special the kids enjoyed last time around as they wore them almost daily and the thrill of the secret club was evident.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? We didn't do many activities other than planting of the seeds, discussing the bunting and playing the card game. We didn't seem to have the access to the mystery messages that we had the last time around, if this was done differently this time I'm not sur
We were really grateful for the Little Gardens to plant and the class enjoyed watching them grow. The kit was less engaging than last time. We had a few accidents with pots getting tipped over when getting watered, we missed the tray to hold them all safe. The kids were content with just having their own Little Gardens at home for those that were keen.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? More children eating vegetables in their lunchboxes. More chn recognising vegetables on others lunchboxes. Trying new vegetables.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? More students able to identify vegetables. Enthusiastic about learning the names of new vegetables
Stars: High engagement kit. Students loved spotting others around school in the LGL. Chn loved the vegetable game. Chn talked about this at home. Cross-curriculum links. Wishes: The house was hard to put together and I didn't end up doing it as I didn't have the time to spare. Would have been better to have arrived pre set up, or a simpler construction. It would have been better to have one copy of all the resources in the box rather than having to find, download and print the different code crackers etc. it would have been better. Many of my students brought in vegetables from home before my kit arrived. It would have been better to have started before it came out in New World. Three teachers at my school had the kits, but we all received different communication at different times. it would have been good to have had more consistent communication.
