Great scientific observations such as I Spy a Bug'... friend or foe, Guess the Seed, What's in the water...will it help the plant or make it sick? Soil or dirt and Let's compost that! Our students love this kit so much they have decided to make scarecrows

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The class decided to have a cultural shared lunch to celebrate the diversity of cultures in our classroom and enjoy new foods eaten in other countries.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? High impact. Learning names of vegetables and fruits in Maori (and other languages -Chinese). Labelling plants, identifying vegetables including new veges not familiar with. Students shared the kinds of veges, fruits and other foods they eat at home.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? most students had a pretty good vegetable knowledge but most did not know they could grow a popcorn plant.

“What a great way for our children to learn about where their food actually comes from. They loved the investigative approach to it too. We looked further into farming, packaging and sales too which was awesome.”

We have been observing the growth and measured different vegetables length in maths. We also wrote about our seedlings growing and planting them in ou

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I see them eating their healthy snacks in their lunchboxes and talking about it with their friends and comparing healthy lunch box snacks versus unhealthy.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Students weren't able to describe the difference between fruit and vegetables and after a few weeks they are not able to sort them in the right order but also leafy vegetables, root vegetables etc.

“We loved receiving our kit and for most of the kids in my class, they have never planted seeds and watch them grow. We waited in anticipation for each seedling and watered them with care. Such a great learning experience for all.”

“Fun for the class I did it with. Hit and miss with the seeds sprouting. I do CRT part time so constantly with different classes so consistency was difficult and can't easily follow up the seedlings and activities.”

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have also completed a heathy lunch box challenge. It has made a very big difference.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was shocking how many of the kids hadn't tried some of the veggies. Swede has become a favorite in our class and at $7.00 some parents were very please with me ;)
