This kit was great for introducing many of the children to new vegetables they hadn't heard of or tried. They enjoyed growing the plants and were often found in conversations discussing the changes they were noticing as the plants were growing, and delighted to take the plants home, and finally to try the foods. This kit also linked in well with our Health topic of healthy eating.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Improved awareness of different types of vegetables - I think it would have been great if we could have grown these fully and eaten them at school but due to timings and the school holidays we couldnt this time.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Some of the students had these at home already and were often our experts at explaining the different vegetables. Lots of discussions on what they were, how you cooked them and what they tasted like.
This was a great resource to use for young ones to plant, watch grow and take care of seedlings. Their was plenty of variety and all children could have their own which due to timing we eventually sent home for them to plant in their own garden.
