This kit worked well for my year 2/3 class. The timing was perfect as we had just completed our decorative garden space and were moving into vegetable gardening. We had a good amount of resources and all students were able to plant at least one seed independently. They enjoyed watching their seeds grow and we were able to plant them into bigger pots before sending them home to be planted in the ground or a large pot.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They were already very independent with this as they’d done them at home before. It was great though because they could support eachother if they hadn’t done it before and it became very student led and the students became the teachers.
The kids loved it when it was introduced. They loved having them especially since they’d had them from the supermarket before. They took care of their plants everyday, remembered to water them and were very interested in learning about the different vegetables. They also all loved the submission to being apart of a “secret club” and the badges to match that were a huge hit.
