In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We discussed how different coloured foods focus on different parts of our bodies for nutrition. We then did some simple science experiments to investigate more after watching mystery science to do with our digestive system.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They loved playing the game and identifying each vegetable and then comparing the photos to their own vegetables when they started growing.
Anchorage Park Primary, room 4 really enjoyed receiving the seedlings. It worked in well with our new greenhouse. Our goal the last two years was to grow vegetables and give them back to the community, we achieved this with the little garden help. The children learned a lot about the types of vegetables and loved learning the names. The game that was provided was a real hit. This unit tied in with our goal to become a Silver Enviro school which were awarded in November. As a teacher, a would recommend for other teachers to give it a go, such a brilliant resource. A big thank you to the school Kit Squad.

The kit gave the opportunity to look at and identify a variety of different vegetables to sow and also compare root vegetables and vegetables that grow above the ground. The new entrant classes at Levin North School loved planting the seeds and waiting in anticipation for something to start growing in their named seed containers. There was a good success rate with the seeds germinating and excited children able to take their plants home to plant in a garden at home.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We talked about different kinds of vegetables and how we look after the plant and grow them. My students are five year olds and mostly ESOL students. They don't know what kind of nutrition in each vegetable but they all agree that eating vegetables is goo
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children have learnt a wider range of vegetables throught the vegetable game.
We used this kit for our science project and the children love it so much! It provides the oppotunity for individual experiences and the games are good follow up activities to reinforce the learning.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We used a previous school kit that made muffins from different vegetables and it was a great success. This would go brillantly with this kit.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The booklet from New World helped identify unknown vegetables.
The children enjoyed planting their little gardens and watching them sprout over time. We predicted which plants would sprout first and which would take longest. Once sprouted we planted these in our school garden.
