In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I feel it has changed attitudes towards trying different vegetables and helping tamariki to see how vegetables can be used in many different recipes during our GTT programme.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Lots! It was amazing the narrow range of vegetables the tamariki actually knew or had tried. I bought in a lot of different vegetables and we set up a vegetable market.

“My class really enjoyed the Little Garden Schoolkit. It tied in beautifully with our school garden to table programme. The tamariki were able to follow the entire process of planting their new world seedlings, nurturing them and watching them grow then planting them in our school garden. They loved the badges and saying the pledge. They went home buzzing and telling their parents they wanted to grow their own vegetables. Our previous unit had been learning about Bees and the important role they play in the garden so the Little garden Schoolkit tied in beautifully.”

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Children in my class knew very few vegetables as they are not cooked at home. they learned about the variety of vegetables that are around us. They are now able to identify and name more vegetables than before.
