It turned into a pretty chaotic part of the term when we began with lots of sickness within our class. Due to this it was probably a bit rushed. But the students really enjoyed the challenges and code breakers. They were really engaged in planting the seeds and taking them home to plant into gardens.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students enjoyed trying new herbs in salads and straight from the plants and garden. We were able to have from garden to plate meals using the herbs especially. The corn is still growing and will be shared with next year's students.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? We are a diverse group of students from a few different countries this year. As a group we learnt a lot about how each culture using vegetables and herbs.
The students loved the Little Gardens and the league. They learnt a lot about their plant, making and writing information reports and sharing with their classmates. The students took their plant home for their gardens and we planted the sweetcorn and popcorn in our class garden to share with next year's students. A way of giving back to others. They tried eating herbs they have not tried before...for example coriander and chives. Thank you for the kit

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was a useful resource for those students not overly familiar with vegetables at home, especially vegetables such as swedes and turnips.
The students loved the little garden kit and were so excited and completely engaged throughout the whole term. All four classes in our team took part in the little garden kit so it was awesome for the kids to see how the other classes seedlings were growing. They absolutely loved the responsibility of being in charge of watering the seedlings and making sure they were being looked after. This is such a fantastic and engaging kit that covers so many areas of the curriculum.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students all wanted to try the new vegetables, and enjoyed talking about their favourites. The kit arrived with enough planters for each of my students to have two plants each. The instructions were simple to follow and the decorations and everything else were a great resource for setting up the Little Garden in the classroom. The resources are probably aimed at kids a little higher than New Entrant, as I found we couldn't really complete the letters to their full potential but there was enough to engage with that the letters still worked well in our class.
