How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? I did not find a massive impact as we could not get some of the plants to grow without a tunnel house at school.
A great resource for younger children. They had a lot of fun planting the seeds and looking after the plants as they grew.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children sat and talked about the veges as we planted them and what they knew about that vege. Some interesting ideas with the NE children.
We found the kits good. the children were enthused when we brought them out and when we started planting the seeds. Unfortunately as our school is under renovation at the moment we were unable to plant any of the growing seeds in the school garden as the gardens in our team are fenced off. The children took them home and planted them. They loved it.

It turned into a pretty chaotic part of the term when we began with lots of sickness within our class. Due to this it was probably a bit rushed. But the students really enjoyed the challenges and code breakers. They were really engaged in planting the seeds and taking them home to plant into gardens.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Unsure really. I'm hoping the taste testing approval of the veges they enjoyed went home. Term 3 is a very busy term for us...we normally have a celebration of learniong in our inquiry but this didn't happen.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Great! After we taste tested and cooked veges the children could tell which foods they liked/disliked.
The children in my class loved growing their own little garden. The activities were fun but I did find since we have composite Year 3/4 classes, some of the activities were aimed a bit lower for my class. I made up a few of my own. Some of our veges are still not edible but we had a great time cooking and eating a variety of veges in class. A great activity. The badges were a lovely touch.
