How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? As new entrance, probably not a lot. But they were fascinated to learn that vegetables grow from a small seed and plant.
The children really enjoyed learning about how plants grow then actually putting their learning into a real life experience - planting these seeds and watching them grow. Our Rangatira was responsible for checking on them and watering them daily. Some had used them before, others had not and had to learn how to plant seeds. The highlight for many students was the condensed soil tablets. They were fascinating to watch as they expanded. All children was so proud of their plants and took them home to share with their family.

We just loved this kit! As a teacher, I love that it comes with EVERYTHING you need! Clear and easy to follow. Some vegetables have gone home while others are now in our school garden. It springboarded into some really cool other plant based learning like sunflowers from seeds, rescuing oak tree saplings and trying to grow popcorn! Such positive learning! Badges were a hit.

This is an awesome resource which I started in my class, we managed to sow the seeds together however due to illness (Teacher) I was not able to follow it through personally. When the seedlings sprouted, the students were given their little pot to take home by the stand-in reliever. Feedback from parents was that they were proud of their plants and watched them grow.

They learnt the process of how to grow plants from seeds and it created opportunities for new language for the ELL learners. Thank you for this opportunity and learning.
