The children tried a variety of cooked and raw veggies, they picked and ate from our school garden and made a shared meal to end the topic. Overall, parent feedback has been positive, with the children being more willing to try some of the veg they serve
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables?
The children in my class are 95% ELL. The varieties of veggies that would have been unfamiliar to kids who have always lived in NZ proved very difficult for these children to identify, therefore the veggie patch match game was pitched too high
