How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It had an awesome impact on my students. We were able to look at the vegetables and learn ways in which we can eat them.
The Little Garden League was a great, hands on project that my class thoroughly enjoyed at the end of term 3 and beginning of term 4. Students had the opportunity to learn about different vegetables and how to care for them. It worked well with our atua Māori that we were looking at 'Rongomtāne and Haumietiketike'. I look forward to doing this again in the future. Great topic!!!

A great kit. Really engaging for the children who were excited to arrive at school each day and check on their seedlings.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Oral language was huge for our tamariki. Learning specific categories and names of vegetables was big for them as they did not know some of them before we did the kit.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was a fun and competitive part as children ended up having a mini competition within their group to be able to identify the vegetables
The kit was very much enjoyed by our class and they loved the story and belonging to a 'secret' club. Children learnt about the different vegetables and are very keen to make our own junior vege garden before the end of the year :)

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children tried vegetables they had not tried before and took produce home to share with their families.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Some children had never seem some of the vegetables grow before and did not recognise the fruits.
Using the Little Garden kit has been an absolute highlight this year. I chose a few high-anxiety or diverse-needs children to train as our experts in gardening. Working with the kit and growing their own seedlings not only gave the children hands-on access to the natural world and provided learning through all their senses – sight, smell, touch, taste and sound, but gardening also provides positive outcomes for health and well-being in addition to supporting their mental health. The gardening and care of our plants provided an opportunity for our children to learn about the natural world around them and being kaitiakitanga of our world. /kʌɪˈtɪəkɪˌtaŋə/

Despite the kit arriving later than expected the tasks were engaging for the children. We adapted the pledge/application slightly to make it more accessible for our learners. The resources were well put together and of a high quality. The children enjoyed

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children learnt about plants that they had never heard of, and the benefits of eating fruit and veges.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The stickers helped but we timed it wrong so the kids took them home for the holidays so we didnt see any fully grown.
My kids loved this kit, and being able to do it themselves was all part of the fun. Every morning the kids came in to check on their plant and their progress. It was a great tool to help teach the children about what plants need to grow.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Yes, children are more aware of the importance of earing vegetable and fruit as part of a healthy diet.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? We talked about eating vegetables as part of our diet. There was more willingness to try new vegetables at the end.
Children loved planting their own plant and taking care of them. There was great excitement when it was time to take the plants and plant them in the garden.
