Year 8 students have also shared what they have learned with new Year 7 students (we are composite) and of their own volition. Which resources were most engaging and most useful to students? The images - this kept it real and in a way evidence of what happened. Kids need authenticity. They also need to see New Zealander's in images to make it relative to them especially when this allows connection to themselves and the topic. The links to the

“My year 7/8 students loved this kit. They were fully engaged in learning the history of the bomb as well as the impacts on the people who were affected by testing. I did this kit last year. School has started this year for us and students who completed the kit last year have initiated their own conversation with the new Y7 cohort about what they had learned during their studies.”

What would you say the impact of this kit has been on your students? We'd covered protests before but this really ignited their passion. Ensuring we were learning about things from a range of perspectives and that included bringing in their whānau thoughts and experiences from the time!

Which resources were most engaging and most useful to students? The stories from the mean on board, the official documents and the video files or audio links. The class also loved the Spotify playlists!

Which resources were most engaging and most useful to students? Funnily enough the students loved the flag and the exploring the notion of the importance flags.

How did this kit build awareness and understanding of the NZ Navy and it's contributions to our history? Loved the way this was introduced, hands-on activities that challenged the students. Very limited prior knowledge for most students but they were very interested in the Rainbow Warrior bombing.
