How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Highly motivating and could definitely use this model for our local area. Love the concept - puzzles - piecing things together, pepeha of the areas, cards to touch and research.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It has made me aware that there is a lot to consider when discussing local history. Our history is very sensitive so we need to be mindful of what we are learning and that there is likely more different views on it also. We should always us our values and

Great concept and had many students interested. We have explored one area together where some students were able to make connections and relevancy with their own whanau experiences. Discussed this amongst another staff member where we found it would take the whole year to use this resource and not one term, as it generated many questions and needed further discussions for understanding. The texts and tasks were a lot to read and at a higher level for my students to understand so needed to be broken down into sections to comprehend.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? For us, like many other schools, our local area has it's own treasures to discover, often the students have no idea what is literally on their doorstep! Anything that sparks an interest or ignites a passion has to be welcomed, so yes the kit has been some

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? The kit will be really useful for building on my (and probably my learners') knowledge of NZ history. There's so much to cover, from numerous viewpoints, that using some of the contents of the kit will act as a stepping stone to discover more. I anticipat

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? The stories in the kit were made all the more relevant knowing that they were based on the lives/snapshots in time of 'real' people. The idea that everybody has a part to play in finding out the history, and being part of the 'journey' is quite powerful!

What an amazing kit....so many stories to tell/find out about that it really wasn't possible to use the whole thing. Time spent delving into just a couple was the direction we headed in. It was brilliant to see so many artefacts from points in time (and a bit of a reminisce from things I remembered as being important when I was growing up!).

This kit has been very rich in material and resources. I feel that I haven't fully mastered it yet. It took awhile to understand how to organise it in the class. The tasks have been complex and most students found it challenging. They have also enjoying it reading about all the historic personal stories and finding out more about certain areas. There are so many skills students need to learn first that it could be taught all year and integrated with reading and writing.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We would LOVE to use this model to explore stories in our area and plan to in 2023. I think the way that the materials are presented is an excellent model for us to follow.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? I feel more confident discussing subjects that have previously felt too tricky. Our Year 5 class can confidently discuss racism in a mature way. It's easy to underestimate kids and avoid covering topics that you're concerned about community responses to,

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? Knowing the stories have been 'signed-off' by mana whenua gave us peace of mind and reassurance that sharing them was appropriate, the right voices are being heard.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Absolutely. Ties in perfectly with current Matauranga Maori work within our school and previous work around learning about our local history, ancestors and forebears.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? Very keen to continue using this kit. Often a SchoolKit (or any topic-based study) is used as the learning focus for 1-2 terms or as a standalone unit of study. The NZAH has the potential to be the overarching context for an entire year of study, with opt

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? This meant students were really engaged in finding out what had happened in the past in their area - some students lived very close to key landmarks, or could identify them as places they drove past regularly. This sparked interest and curiosity.

I think my favourite SchoolKit so far - and I've been using SchoolKit since the very beginning. I have raved about this kit to my colleagues and it is one that won't be put into a cupboard anytime soon. The variety and range of content is real, accurate, reliable and engaging. My Year 6 students were thoroughly engaged with the learning and we ended up continuing this study for far longer than the one term I had originally anticipated and allocated. Thanks SchoolKit. This one is exceptional.

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? Awesome! As a Maori kaiako and Tangata whenua in Te Arawa, I was supper encouraged and felt culturally safe knowing that Iwi got to tell their story, and that it was valued.

I want to start this review by saying I have only had the kit for 6 weeks and we still have our major writing piece to complete which is due in Friday Week 8. When I teach it next year I will teach it as a full integrated unit, as opposed to a kaupapa/inquiry unit. The reason for that is because there is so much richness in this kit that there really is enough to carry it for a full half term of 2 blocks per day. I approached this as an"extra"on top of my curriculum work so my time with it was only one block a day. Now that I have actually worked with I can see that the kids were super enagged, the material was deep and the learning was profound. The kids loved exploring the postcards. When you say"Something happened here"the kids respond with"What happened?"So we got to become history detectives and explore our region and outside of it, which was so cool. I did a lot of reading to them and we had lots of meaningful conservations. We explored
