How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? The physical resources really help with the 'do' part and lets students explore far more-rich and engaging conversations were had!

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We have used several postcards that were based in Auckland, and I would love to make links with the Maritime Museum and the local iwi, as we we stand is where early Maori settled and where European colonists lived.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It gives me a place to stand, as others waffle around, deciding what is at the appropriate level for Year 5 & 6, I will have a head start. And having used about 10 postcards so far, I can see which sparked interest and would be a good place to start next

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? I love the way the two stories for each postcard complement and contrast with each other. Lots of misconceptions being replaced by facts.

“What a great resource - which will get used and re-used over the coming years. The Year 5 & 6s are really 'into' the topics and although only a few had any prior knowledge, they are finding new information and making connections. Very well done Schoolkit!”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? It has made me think more about industry in the area with freezing works, paper mills, dairy factories and flax mills present in the past. These industries brought people to our area.
