There were different friendships forming. I believe the Playlunch Project had a big influence on this. This was fantastic,

As mentioned above, it enabled the children to look outside of themselves and realise others may have different thoughts and feelings about many things and that their choices can have an impact on others.

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas and activities to help our tamariki learn about respectful relationships. Due to it being an unsettled year we had to do the School Kit in parts but it certainly helped with dealing with others when we have our own anxieties about what was happening around our country and around the world.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? the charging mat and battery has given the children a way to describe how they are feeling. They are beginning to understand that one can have an influence on how others are feeling and that their actions can cause others to feel sad or happy.
The respectful relationships kit came in handy coming back in after lockdown when we needed to set up our class culture again. It was great to use the poem/stories as a starting point for more discussion around being kind and a good friend. We talked about how to acknowledge our own behaviour. The magentic battery was an awesome visual reminder which we still use everyday, working towards an end goal (when our battery is charged).

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has helped my less to look out side their own little group of friends. And fitted and beautifully with the coaching we were doing around feelings and Covid.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The sticker charts we such fun. The colour differentiation help me to see who needed encouragement to widen their friendship circles.It also helped to identify those who needed extra coaching on how to makes friends.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Wthe video links and youtube stories were very helpful.
I found this kit to be very useful to focus on whole class behaviour and relationships. My junior class particularly liked the traffic light. It was easy for them to relate to and talk about red, orange and green light behaviours, they could explain each one and understand what they meant. We now use this terminology in class regularly. They may say. ";that is red light behaviour, we don't do that";. Or ";that is green light behaviour";.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Students took ownership of their behaviour and noticed how others behaved towards each other.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? As the teacher I appreciated the book list. The students enjoyed all the books and I felt they were all relevant and I enjoyed them too.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? We have some kids in our class who struggle with social skills. Using this kit within our class has helped those kids to pracise and develop their skills, it has also helped others around them to see how they can help.

Taking turns to play with different people and spend time looking for positive interactions with others was a wonderful way to celebrate all the members of our class. We really liked reading the books you suggested.
