How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The children have sought people they don't know as well to include in their activities.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Encouraging the children to form relationships with children they don't usually spend as much time with has been the most noticeable thing. The 'battery' was also helpful and the children were able to see that it's okay to feel great some days and a bit '

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The children are able to explain some of the things they can do to get to know others better. We have discussed what showing respect for others looks like in our classroom and school.

“This created great discussions and paired well with Kiva work we are beginning. The kids loved that the kit is so interactive such as sharing the stickers and all of the videos too. We still use the charging the battery idea which was a good refresher/reminded us lots about the treaty we created at the start of the year.”

“It was quite hard to intergrate with the juniors. The battery idea was ok but didn’t fIt in with our school tools so was a bit redundant. The quality of the products however are in very good nic. The impact of the whole thing on my class was ok.”

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? It was helpful to pick the kit up again after our first lockdown. I think it helped the students re establish their relationships.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? They have had lots of opportunities to practise developing respectful relationships. The children particularly enjoyed the playground activities an giving and receiving stickers.

“I found this kit was difficult to use and wasn't very clear to follow compared to other kits. I found that the videos didn't seem to directly relate to what I was teaching e.g. children were focused on story and couldn't identify the main idea they were trying to share. Compared to other kits, there wasn't a clear guideline to follow as a teacher to teach this kit.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has supported the development of prosocial behaviours and was engaging to them. Thanks School Kit for the great work you do.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? I have a particularly challenging group of students in my class this year. From some of my students the kit worked worked and for others this is an ongoing daily chat.

The components have encouraged the students to want to become friends with a lot of different class members. We still need to continue to work on respectful relationships rather than the broader term of playing with a lot of different people.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? I was able to use the battery and magnets to reward prosocial behaviour when they were observed making the connection between kindness/respect and a positive energy/feeling in the class.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The components in the kit supported and encouraged the students to understand that everybody deserves respect and kindness. From this we were able to develop a list of attributes and behaviours that a great classmate demonstrates.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? We used the clips provided t0 identify our own feelings and to help us notice what others might be feeling

“My class enjoyed this kit, it helped them to think of others and their feelings. It was a way for me to discuss and show them through different mediums how to be a better friend, class member and family member. For others coming back from Covid was really difficult, some had little contact with their friends over the time and this helped to close the gap faster as they became more mindful of eachothers experiences.”
