How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Activities get children thinking- children feel good when doing things for others.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Great way to focus on noticing what/how others are feeling which was a neccesity after lockdown with younger students . After the unit is complete, it's great to be able to refer back to videos/tasks activities to refocus when the need arises.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The short videos were great discussion starters - great for using at getting together time in our play based classroom. As were the mindfulness breathing section

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Yes we use the poster quite a bit, the drama and noticing how others are feeling very useful. Vocabulary being used at home - re charge the battery

“This kit was awesome, my class loved it. Especially the idea of charging the class battery, we have continued to use this in the class and they love it everytime we get a fully charged battery, It has given them some vocab to use when discussing helping each other out, and looking after each others emotions.”

“the resource tied in really well with our K.O.S programme that we did prior. Extending on prior knowledge of extending and maintaining respectful, positive relationships. Using the strategies in the kit to enhance readiness for learning (charging class battery) has been amazing and the tamariki have really enjoyed it. Overall, the tamariki continue to speak or remind each other how to be and what it looks like to show mana-aki-tanga, rangatiratanga, me awhinatanga.”

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? I'm not sure it really influenced as such - as mentioned we have a strong focus on this kind of relationship building and social interactions so it was a good companion.

“The kit was very useful. We are a NE class and we used it to foster relationships in the classroom, primarily focusing on building relationships with each other. Even although we finished the kit projects some weeks back, we are still using the themes even now! The children still ask to use the traffic light and sticker books!”

“This pack was received unfortunately just a few days before we went into lockdown so I did not have time to begin this. Since lockdown, our school had our own processes in place to support children so have not started it. However, this reminder has encouraged me to open up the pack and check out what is inside. I am so impressed and gutted that I did not use any of these resources earlier. This will be a perfect way to end the term!”
