“This was an amazing kit which arrived at a time when some children were not coping (even though they may not have expressed this). Throughout this term we have looked at effective relationships and how to maintain them. This kit is relevant to any class at any time of the year. Focussing on working together in being respectful and that it is a team effort was easily shown in the battery.”

One of our school values is respect and we also do PB4L so we already do a lot of talk and work around respectful relationships. Some of the components of the kit helped reinforce this.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Very good to work from teacher driven perspective with these younger children. Felt it was more suited to older children and had circumstances been different would have passed on to the next year level.

“Beautiful kit with well made resources. Just a pity that lockdown got in the way to really use this kit. I will be going back and using the kit and looking at the resources again as I think this is an awesome topic to start the school year off with. Fun, colourful and appealing to teachers and students.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? By deliberately teaching these behaviours, the children are now aware and able to identify them, articulate them and react to them and learning to regulate them.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? We revisit this learning almost daily - it now daily language and noticings !!!

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? I absolutely loved the play lunch concept it was the most valuable part for our class. I love the recharging station, the children used this lots. We found the conversation question cards were very interesting as well. All in all I loved the way this kit

What I did find was that the popular kids were more willing to let others join their group and the other kids were more willing to work with the ‘so called’ more ch

“A great kit but I really felt we were hindered in using it to it's full potential with covid and 2 Lockdowns this year as class focus became more about learning in the classroom, but worked well with our mindfulness program and RICH heart focus. Was great getting the kids to develop deeper relationships with each other and with children they wouldn't necessarily choose to play with.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Students enjoyed the play lunch project and challenging themselves to play with everyone in the class. The discussion cards made for great classroom discussions and writing topics.

“I have New Entrants and interestingly our class roll size went from 25 to 40 students during the time we used the kit. We initially started with two weeks of using the playing outside with a new friend booklets, but it was overwhelming for some of our students and they started not wanting to come to school because they only felt comfortable being with usual friends. We adapted the playground sticker books from being used outside to being used sitting in class in the mornings and greeting and sharing with someone new. The children loved this. We loved the battery and being charged up to learn and continue to use it daily in class.”
