We are still consistently working on prosocial behaviours and this linked in with our school value Courtesy very well as being courteous of others is thinking about how other people are feeling and how their actions affect others and not just thinking abo

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Lots of group work and working together. If students were arguing or not sharing or getting along while playing games or interacting I would stop them and the class would come up with ways they can be more respectful of others.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? We had lots of discussions around relationships and at the end each morning tea and lunchtime students would share how they were being respectful of others.

“The kit has some good content. Some of the kit needs significant adaption for new entrants. Due to covid 19 we did not get to complete the work. We will continue this in Term 3.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? I have noticed a lot more helpfulness, volunteering to assist with most of the students both in the classroom and in the playground.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The components allowed us certain points about relationships that we could regularly revisit if any situations arose.

“Full of resources that are high quality and exciting for the kids. I liked hoe they could physically stand on and interact with the magnets, stickers, and charging spot. Lots of different talking points included and different activities to try.”

My class is a real mixture of very anti social students and students who understand how to develop a relationship so having a whole class focus on this topic with the excitement involved in getting a kit has helped the anti social students without feeling

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? My students are now a lot more positive towards each other and give compliments to each other.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Students are sharing, cooperating and are generally more considerate towards each other. They were able to practice this through the contents of the kit.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? My class are strong friends as a whole, much more than in previous years. When there are squabbles, they are able to sort more out themselves.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? This is always going to be an ongoing focus for me as a teacher. But after using this kit, some students have really embraced the concepts of empathy and inclusion and are noticing their peers and then taking affirmative action.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? It has made students more aware that some days we need to take the time to notice and check in with others in our class. They are now more observant and have the language to check in with each other to make sure everyone is feeling included and respected.

“There were some great activities in this kit. I found the videos particularly useful for my class. The children all loved the flash mob with the orchestra playing Ode to Joy. The childrens' favourite activity though must have been the playlunch project. They were excited to trade stickers and reminded me when I forgot to put them out after break times. It was definitely beneficial for those kids in my class who struggle to find someone to play with regularly. Still lots more to explore in this kit.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Students now approach other students they see on their own in the playground- they have become leaders in our pod. Students who were not chosen at group selection time are now asked to join their groups. The pressure is off to be popular.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? We have become a 'kind' class. No one is left out or made to feel different, even though we acknowledge that we are but in a positive way.
