“My class loved the stickers. We used them to promote whanaungatanga, and encourage everyone to work with each other. We adapted it slightly to include working together in class, as well as spending time with each other during break times. We also used the emotive language to support our communication skills as a class.”

“Most of the Respectful Relationships kit was great for my students at the start of the year. The most popular with my students was the playground project. each child was pretty successful at it. We used the power-up mat with our zones of regulations check-in. students stepped on the mat to return to the green zone "ready to learn". the battery worked well as a class goal system students earned the tokens to get a dress-up day. students were working on being independent and resilient and got tokens when they didn't interrupt the teacher when she was with a group. overall some real gems in the kit. Thanks”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The children were encouraged to think about how other were feeling - a difficult task at 6 years old. But by having the playtime activities with lots of different children they mixed more and were more friendly to each other.

“This kit was good as it had a number of resources that we could use in class. My class responded very well to the class battery idea and we have continued to use this resource this term. The playground booklets which encouraged children to play with a variety of children were also very successful. The story was aimed at the right level and we spent a number of days re-reading this and discussing different aspects of this.”
