How has this kit influenced your classroom community? At first the children were keen to play with others but this didn't last.

This kit fits well with 'How Full is Your Bucket' which we had taught at the beginning of the year. We loved the battery filling side of the kit and the tamariki enjoyed using the friendship booklets and stickers. We found that not many children developed new relationships with others. They tend to stick with the same set of friends.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? I see a development in compassion and caring for each other.
The use of stories was very successful and the children were able to relate to this and make links with their own experiences and ideas. They especially enjoyed the play-time project and it was successful at getting the children to include others and [play with different class-mates. The resources were great quality and provided for a variety of learning activities.

Respectful Relationships 22 was an excellent kit as it fitted in well with our schoolwide PB4L programme. Building and maintaining relationships is ongoing and it was great having new activities to use.

This was one of the most amazing kits we have practiced. By giving stickers to one another, it really created an understanding of what students' expectations are for one another. The students started to understand what respect looked like and really got into practicing this. they love it and we have carried on with this into term 2 and I have bought more stickers so we can. Love love love this kaupapa.

The kit is very relevant in during covid times, as it is making students communicate with each other more and to help solve their problems too for a respectful solution. The kit is very useful in being consistent and keeping a more positive and nurturing
Students were engaged to discuss what relationships looked like, sounded like, who needs to show respect, why we needed to show respect, where to show respect. Students were able to act out scenarios in showing respect. Students were able to identify kindness and respect in action over three weeks in the playground and in the classroom.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? We all value each others and are able to see themselves and others in a more respectful light. We work together and uplift each other. My students are able to make better decisions that take others into consideration first and foremost.

They can see and manipulate physical resources to build understandings. The lessons and resources (digital and physical) were highly engaging for my year 2 class. They are and were able to see tangible and direct results of their actions.

This kit has been key in the social and emotional development of my 6 year olds, highly impacted by COVID. They are able to better understand how to build and maintain positive relationships with others.
This kit was the perfect kickstart into setting up a challenge to be empathetic and respectful to others inside and outside the classroom. The resources provided a great start to setting the scene for developing skills and knowledge in this area.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Our other behaviour programmes we are running (Zones of Regulations) this kit has helped reinforce socially acceptable behaviour and strengthened relationships.

This is the third or fourth time I have used the Respectful Relationships kit to help introduce building positive relationships with year 1/2 students. I find the activities capture the children's attention, especially the 'Playlunch Project'. I have recommended this Kit to all my colleagues in the Junior Syndicate as a great way for children to get to know one another at the beginning of the school year.
