How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Our kids really responded to the initial story and exercise on the big poster. They could empathize with the characters and how they would feel when being (seemingly) excluded from a game and then how it would feel to actively get invited to join in.
This kit has had a wonderful impact in the classroom. The children are able to identify activities or things that make then feel good or in the green zone. The Playlunch is a huge hit and I can't imagine a classroom without it. Next term we will be focusing on developing further understanding of the Class Battery and how we can charge ourselves up. The main outcome has been about all children learning what it means to play with other people and they have been slowly developing skills to do this with everyone, rather than just their friends. (Super great) We really enjoyed the story and the kids related to this situation really well, made good links to the Zones of Regulation if this is in your classrooms - it is an easy piece to add.

How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? During covid our kids missed each other. Their communication and gratefulness for their friends has largely improved.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? There is a deeper understanding of their part in their relationships. We learnt a lot about what people need and how to understand signs of distress and times to ask for help.
My class enjoyed some aspects of the kit. There was an awful lot in the box and 80% was unused such as the mat, magnets etc. The best part was the stickers and sticker book. They were able to sit and play with people they wouldn't normally.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? As mentioned previously, it has been helpful to reinforce our PB4L kaupapa into the activities in this kit. Students taking ownership of their behaviour and being able to express themselves!

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? As above, a great way to reinforce our KAURI expectations with the fun activities included in the kit. They have improved with being able to express themselves.

Establishing some of the practices within our class has meant that if students have been absent for prolonged lengths of time, no matter what the learning, there is something that they are familiar with that has been ongoing.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? The students really enjoyed the charging up of the battery resource and relating it to our PB4L kaupapa (KAURI) as the ways to charge the battery (kindness, achievement, unity, respect and identity). They were also engaged in the playtime project booklet
I have only managed to use the charging battery station, but the kids enjoyed it. Usually it is myself putting up rewards, but having them to do it themselves and seeing it charge throughout the day was great. It encouraged them to use it. They were also very encouraging of one another and congratulated people when it came to them putting up magnets which was awesome. We used this across the three classrooms in the syndicate, which helped and it meant that when we all came together, the kids all knew what it meant and knew that they could still get magnets to charge their batteries. They knew that they could work together and help each other, not just their own classmates. However, for me I already have reward systems set up, so having this as well I sometimes got a little bit slack. However, the kids were happy to remind me and the battery worked towards the other systems I have in place. We are looking forward to trying the rest of the box with the syndicate next term.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? The battery has help the class verbalise their feelings and develop strategies to be in a zone conducive to learning.
This kit has some fantastic elements which helped to bring a sense of kotahitanga in our class. The tamariki loved the battery and the visual of seeing it fill up with kind acts. The different activities coupled with the stories and videos made this a comprehensive kit which made a positive impact on our class. Thank you for providing this resource.

This has helped build a few new friendships, because the tamariki really wanted that 'rainbow' of stickers they really worked hard to try and work or play with the different tamariki in their class. How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Most are able to recognise what they think a healthy friendship looks like in and outside of the classroom, and ways they can manage their own feelings towards others and themselves.
The kit's resources were very relevant for my New Entrants, easy to use, and very well made. I highly recommend the Respectful relationships kit to use at any time of the year.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? This Kit has linked in nicely to our learning about being a 'Bucker Filler' and how we can fill each others buckets which helps us to have respectful relationships.
Wow, what an inspiring kit. I wanted it to help some students make friends - it did this and more! I really liked everything about this except the stickers. I would definitely do this again but instead get them to write their name in the sticker spot. Students from another class ended up joining us on our journey and then the seniors wanted to join in. Altered to make it fit! It is amazing to watch students of different ages talking about what they have in common as well as those who don't acknowledge others from different ages and stages. One of the top kits! We had a post office going at the same time and students wrote postcards to other children saying what they liked about them with no prompting from me.

A great way for the students to think about others and their feelings. My class enjoyed swapping stickers and building their collection. Now they all play together at lunchtimes.

I found this kit really useful. We have especially enjoyed the play lunch project. It has encouraged new friendships in my classroom.
