Covid has had a big impact on children's social skills so having teaching resources to support children to be kind to themselves and others has supported growth and understanding in this area.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? The physical elements of the kit elicited excitement among the class as we've used a few kits before. This helped with initial student buy in as the kits always have varied and exciting content.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? We didn't use the kit as a separate resource and instead worked it into our existing relationship lessons. The mat was the best bit for the kids but sadly it hasn't lasted long.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? This kit has influenced my classroom community to have the courage to get to know their peers and recognise what is and isn't okay in a relationship.

This is a kit I will keep using and exploring for years to come as I feel I have only scratched the surface with its potential. I heard a shift in the language students were using to express themselves/work through problems.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? The story supported the children's learning as they were relatable. High student engagement with most of the child understanding the concepts of building positive friendships.
The Respectful Relationships kit was exactly what my class needed. It connected well to my year 3/4 class and I could integrate it throughout my week eg using the kindness letters at writing time, singing Minoi Minoi for Samoa Language week. It's exciting getting a kit with cool little resources - it's like Christmas for me and my class. A great reason to use them! This is something I can use and build on in future years.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Our kids really responded to the initial story and exercise on the big poster. They could empathize with the characters and how they would feel when being (seemingly) excluded from a game and then how it would feel to actively get invited to join in.
This kit has had a wonderful impact in the classroom. The children are able to identify activities or things that make then feel good or in the green zone. The Playlunch is a huge hit and I can't imagine a classroom without it. Next term we will be focusing on developing further understanding of the Class Battery and how we can charge ourselves up. The main outcome has been about all children learning what it means to play with other people and they have been slowly developing skills to do this with everyone, rather than just their friends. (Super great) We really enjoyed the story and the kids related to this situation really well, made good links to the Zones of Regulation if this is in your classrooms - it is an easy piece to add.
