How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? The children now play with more of their classmate, both boys and girls showing me that they have taken on board working respectfully with others.
This Unit gave my children with special needs an opportunity to look outside themselves and observe their peers with a positive attitude. The pack contained clear outlines and interactive activities. The quality of the resources was coloruful , durable and enticing for the students.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? The kids in my class have bonded a lot more through this project. New friendships have been born which obviously was a goal. My new boy was struggling to fit in and this helped him a lot.

I found this very relevant as children with smaller friend circles have struggled this term with their "usual"friends being away. This project has been a saviour for those kids.

They are learning to then be strong enough to change the relationships they are in or speak up for themselves or others when they see disrespectful t
As the kit didn't arrive until late in the term. I have decided to use it during Term 2 when I have more 5 year olds start school.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? We brainstormed sensible games to play during 'the playlunch project' and this helped students make wise decisions. Playground incidents appeared to reduce.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Students were more willing to play with different peers through the sticker exchange activity. They were more accepting to people asking them to play.

I had low attendance in term 1 due to student covid and isolation requirements. Term 2 was a bit like starting the year again, so it was a great way for peers to get to know each other and play with new people.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? That a respectful relationship is a two way thing. Both people need to work at it.
This was a great kit for my classroom of NE children. We used the base plate and charger to charge our battery and help us make a good choice. We stood on the base plate and took a deep breath and then moved a counter to the green of the battery. This was popular. We used mindfulness daily to breath deep and calm our minds and bodies (essential for key children). Being a Catholic school, one of our GRACE values was Respect so I was able to link this too. We also used the Rainbow fish story to friendship and caring and sharing and created colourful fish to go above the base plate. We had a discussion about what makes us happy and wrote our answers on paper. The children enjoyed swapping stickers in the booklet- we adapted this slightly so children swapped stickers with someone who showed them kindness or respect. We are going to continue with this in term 2.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Term 4 can be hard when everyone is getting tired and unsettled at the end of a busy year. The kit kept us stay focused on being kind to others.
This kit was perfect for my Yr 2 class to build new relationships in our classroom. My tamariki were fascinated by the charging station and enjoyed charging their battery when they felt the needed it. My whole class enjoyed trading stickers with others and I witnessed them engaging in conversation with others about how to ask a new child to play. Highly recommend this resource!

I have really enjoyed using the Respectful Relationships pack with my class this term. It has helped with building our class culture. The students have enjoyed the play lunch project interacting with the other students in the class.

It is an awesome tool that demonstraites what what respectful relationships look like in and out of the classroom. It has encouraged tamatiki to reflect on their day and how the things went.
some of the videos were a bit above my year one/two students but the cartoons were really relevant and appealing to them.

The best part of the kit is the Playlunch project books. My class use these during playbased learning time and they help with them using their gentle hands, sharing and being kind while engaged in play with others. They absolutely love them and it decreases the amount of play conflict and them telling tales on one another as if someone is not being kind they just don't give them a sticker. Also like the map which is good to integrate with digitech. Children can programme robots to go to different places on the map.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? It gave everyone the opportunity to look outside their normal and see that others in the class had similar interests they hadn't previously seen or could make them laugh.

Incredibly relevant - the kids had spent so much time at home in lockdowns, that they forgot how to socialise and interact with their friends and peers. There was a lot of anxiety and this kit helped remove some of the walls that had been built.

Provided opportunities to build positive communication through the dice, the playtime challenge made them step out of their comfort zone and see that playing and interacting with others can also be a positive experience
Overall our class really enjoyed the kit. They LOVED the playlunch project in particular! We integrated the kit with the Zones of Regulation lessons we were teaching simultaneously, so we used the battery magnets to track our zones throughout the day, which was really successful. Although we couldn't do the sinigng due to red level, the breathing was great and is now integrated into our daily routine. The kids really enjoyed the Thing-That-For card activities, and the question cards were nice for Circle Time warmups. We found the class activities a little disconnected / didn't flow on from each other super naturally, but we adjusted them to make them flow for our class. We haven't used the tokens or connector cards yet. Overall I recommend the kit, our class loved it!
