How has this kit influenced your classroom community? It gave everyone the opportunity to look outside their normal and see that others in the class had similar interests they hadn't previously seen or could make them laugh.
How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Incredibly relevant - the kids had spent so much time at home in lockdowns, that they forgot how to socialise and interact with their friends and peers. There was a lot of anxiety and this kit helped remove some of the walls that had been built.

Provided opportunities to build positive communication through the dice, the playtime challenge made them step out of their comfort zone and see that playing and interacting with others can also be a positive experience
Overall our class really enjoyed the kit. They LOVED the playlunch project in particular! We integrated the kit with the Zones of Regulation lessons we were teaching simultaneously, so we used the battery magnets to track our zones throughout the day, which was really successful. Although we couldn't do the sinigng due to red level, the breathing was great and is now integrated into our daily routine. The kids really enjoyed the Thing-That-For card activities, and the question cards were nice for Circle Time warmups. We found the class activities a little disconnected / didn't flow on from each other super naturally, but we adjusted them to make them flow for our class. We haven't used the tokens or connector cards yet. Overall I recommend the kit, our class loved it!

The children are better at identifying their feelings and how others are also feeling. Children have significantly improved at reading social cues and seek to charge up each others batteries.
The children enjoyed it once they started to get the hang of what and how they filled their card up as well as the class battery.

I can tell this was a well thought out resource adding original stories and ideas to promote many aspects of Respectful Relationships even down to a Spotify playlist! I ran this programme along side the Mitey Programme which also features Te Whare Tapa Whā and Aroha's Way - I found they complemented each other beautifully. We loved the Class Battery and the Playlunch Project. We intend to continue on with using the Class Battery throughout the year. Plus the Respectful Relationships Story Mat will continue to feature in the classroom environment. This was an excellent way to highlight and weave many prosocial behaviours into a classroom community!

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? It has allowed the tamariki to build closer relationships with each faster. They are looking out for each other in the playground and connecting more in class. When completing Investigations, they are turn taking and listening to each other.

It has been great when tamariki have been in and out of the class due to isolation. They have felt welcomed back and less afraid to return as everyone has connected so well.

We were able to learn about respect, how people feel, and how to show these things to others inside and outside of the classroom. The tamariki were able to identify how they were feeling in different situations and how to take this out to the playground.
Fantastic activities. The kids loved play lunch project, battery charger class reward system and the poster really engaged them In feelings of others and opened up discussions around positive relationships

My class loved the battery and we’re able to use it for the right reasons. Some would encourage others to use it when they were become fruitless sad. It was great to see. The class had a great disown emotion s and trying to read other peoples . They loved talking about other cultures.
