How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? I have found the children have responded well to the lessons in this kit, and are more empowered to manage social situations and their emotions with a greater degree of independence. (see above for details)

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Our class goal is to always leave school feeling happy (and without any unresolved issues). FOr the most part, we have been successful in achieving this goal, although it has been a year-long process of revisiting and reinforcing the learning be started in Term 1.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Not relevant. We haven't had any cases of Covid in our class this year.
“My class and I started this kit in Term 1, and have continued to use it all year. We combined the recharging station with our school's zone of regulation resources to create a checkpoint for how we are feeling. The kids love this part of the kit best, and it has been incredibly useful for modelling how to recognise how we are feeling, and what strategies we can use to get back to the green zone. The cards are also a great resource that we have incorporated into our circle time sessions. I have found the children have responded well to the lessons in this kit, and are more empowered to manage social situations and their emotions with a greater degree of independence.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has made the tamariki think about cxonnecting to others beyond their freindship group. It also helped to develop and strengthen positive play.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? The class check in on each other to make sure everyne is included in play/friendships. We use our learning to reflect weekly on how we are going as a class community.
How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Each component built on an aspect and could be adapted and reused. The tokens and stickers/play date booklets gave a concrete incentive for the class.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? We haven't had a covid interruption but I can see some aspects would be useful to adapt for children to use with their families.
“The kit was well-leveled for the needs of my class. The resources included were easy to use and gave a purpose to my classes learning about relationships. The parts my class loved the most were having play dates and the relationship battery - we still use these to continue connecting and to notice each other using respectful relationship skills each day.”

“This is a great kit to use at the start of the year. I linked it with Zones of Regulation. Children in my class this year didn't respond to the 'play lunch project' the same way as last year. They preferred to sit with their friends and they completed only half of the challenge (maybe one or two sat and talked to everyone in class).”

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Behavior management systems got a well needed upgrade and boost. The children bought into these new systems.
