“I have absolutely enjoyed teaching this content and have learned a lot about my students. The discussions were very honest, with most participating. Those that didn't were definitely listening and taking it all in. This is something that we, as a team, have decided to add to our anti bullying unit at the beginning of each year.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I didn't realise how many of my students were working on their devices at home behind closed doors. There were girls sending photos to boys and just general obliviousness to the dangers out there.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was fine with delivering the more mature content, however, I was concerned that I introduced topics to innocent students who's parents might have wanted to discuss these topics with them themselves instead of a teacher.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I knew that students where being exposed to things at a younger age but didn't realise how much. This kit has opened my eyes to what they are seeing, hearing and doing online as well as opening up dialogue between them and I. They know share openly.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? The class were incredibly honest about the experiences they have had online and about how they respond to things. We had some very interesting answers when we looked at the situation cards, and students considered how they would react.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? My class had a lot of previous knowledge about staying safe online and yet so many students do not follow it! Tik Tok was a prevailing topic when looking at our behaviours, with most of the class having accounts despite not being old enough. We also took

“This kit has been an amazing addition to class. It was so well put together and engaging. The students loved it! It fitted so well with a topic we had been doing and coincided nicely with a visit from the local community police about social media. It was really relevant and accessible for everyone, and provided a timely reminder for online behaviour and how we act. The kit generated lots of deep and thought provoking discussions!”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Had a good idea on what the children are seeing and talking about around class/school. Spoke in groups and shared ideas and thoughts about the subjects addressed - was interesting to hear some extra children pop up that have heard/seen things online.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I was unaware of the access that students have to Apps and sites. My students ages range from 9-11 years. They are being exposed to material and abuse and parents are not aware of it.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was comfortable because our seniors did puberty lessons , so were aware of lots of the content. Parents were comfortable with me delivering the mature content. Many of my students knew too much already, especially the boys.

“The Kit was good because it started conversation. It also got students to speak about online behaviours. I messaged all the parents and got them speaking to their children about digital safety.”
