What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? I was not particularly surprised but happy all the same that the students were very open to discussing the topics covered within the kit. They brought zero judgements and a compassionate attitude to talks.
The stimuli resources in this kit were exceptional for promoting deep level thinking among the students. I thorough enjoyed extending their knowledge of how to keep safe online (and offline) and connecting both spheres for them.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I felt uncomfortable. We are a very diverse community. Some families are very religious and strongly protective of their children. Some ideas I thought might be more up to families to decide when they would talk about them, rather than me as their teacher

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Some things I thought I was teaching them to prepare them for the future are tools they actually need now.
I loved this kit because it is based around such an important issue: safety on line. I really care about this area that is so important to our children's lives. There were a couple of activities that really engaged my students and opened up really interesting discussion. My favourites were the online/offline boundaries. The mirroring of these made such clear comparisons for students to relate to. It was easy to pull out really clear guidelines about how to be safe online. The scenario cards were also really interesting and stimulating and could be used in many ways.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How they were willing to open up and share some of their stories. They were very supportive of each other too.
Some difficult situations discussed in a interactive and interesting way. Gave the students opportunity to share their own experiences and ask questions. Helped them understand that everyone has similar experiences and how to handle them.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? That some students have unlimited use of a phone or device and their parents do not monitor what they see and do.
My class enjoyed the activities - particularly the use of the 'that's out of line ' cards , the ring and decision maker sheet. The unit had a lot of cross curricular links. I divided it up into 6 lessons. I also added some kahoots about values.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Children have been exposed to a wider range of online scenarios than I had anticipated for this age group. I realized that a lot of these kinds of interactions and scenarios were seen as the norm by my students.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They were able to identify risks and dangers in the offline world very easily. However, they struggled at times to see the dangers of that exact same scenario online. I was surprised by how much my students had been exposed to already and how much fr
The activities were engaging and introduced some difficult topics in a fun and unobtrusive way. The scenario cards and other information was relevant to my students as many have been in those positions.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How much they know about digital technology / social media.
I was excited when the kit arrived. Really great activities inside the box. The students were so engaged in the activities, with meaningful discussions taking place. The content was age appropriate. Students enjoyed the online/offline boundaries, especially making comparisons. They now use the title in class ";keep it Inline";

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They had a really hard time applying the abstract to the concrete. For example, it was really hard for them to connect with the ring and how it was the same as being on the internet - I had to really guide them into seeing some of the connections. They d
I thought it was a great idea to have a kit like this available. And I found aspects of the kit really helpful. I enjoyed having the out of line cards and the emotion cards. I felt like a lot of the videos were a bit to complex for my students (year 5 and 6). I also feel like it would be good to get them to do a bit more hands on stuff. A lot of the kit was set up for whole class activities which inevitably leads to a lot of them sitting around without a role the activity.
