My class had a great time with this school kit activity. We did a trip to the local beach and the students had a fantastic hands on experience picking up more rubbish than we expected. Interestingly we only had 1 plastic bag, which goes to show the ban might be working. Thankyou school kit! :D The students are certainly eager to help those sea creatures after this!

This kit fitted perfectly with our Inquiry and it was great to have resources that were made for kids (they loved the gloves) We will use these again. We did a clean up at our local beach and the students were astounded at the rubbish that was lying in the dunes. They have been conditioned to not go into the dunes because of it being a delicate environment. It was affirming for the students to have the responsibility of carefully picking their way through the dunes to remove litter and therefore support that ecosystem. An excellent kit. Thank you.

Such a great kit for the children at our school who live right next to the beach. It has made them much more aware of what we need to do to take care of our waters and the changes we can make. We have made beeswax wraps and children are picking up rubbish voluntarily in our playground. It's a topic that worked perfectly with our 'Sustainable Coastlines' unit. It's an area that all classes will focus on each year to make sure that message is getting home.

This was such an engaging and topical project. The students decided to focus on the rubbish created after a big event at our school such as the Year 7 &; 8 gala. We gave ourselves the task of the clean up afterwards and how eye opening was that. They made strong connections with the Sea Cleaners youtube clips especially about the turtles. As we were cleaning up the catchphrase as we saw a piece of plastic rubbish was ";Save a Turtle"; as they rushed to pick it up. The main outcome of this task - even though it was on school grounds - was to send a proposal to the Leadership team to ban Water balloons in any future event. Powerful student voice.

What a great resource! We talked a lot about the sea and how rubbish gets there and what we could do for the animals that live at the beach or in water ways. We couldn't get there to clean it up, but we did do our best effort for our school and Parish community. Thank you!!!

Our students loved this kit! Made them a lot more aware of what actually are in the bodies of water around us! We found lots of rubbish packets floated away in the bushes nearby also!

This kit tired in perfect ly to what our class had been doing in term 3 (via Squawk Squad) for conservation week. The class were really engaged in every aspect of this kit, and thoroughly enjoyed looking at our local waterways which lead to the ocean. The content was very relevant, and the resources were spot on for our Yr3/4 kids. The rubbish bags and gloves for clean up day were a huge hit with the class, and very practical. We have reused both things time and again since our clean up day. Overall, really pleased we got to be part of this and helped to make a change in our local area.
