This is a fantastic kit which fittet in well with our school's efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle waste. The students have become very aware of the need to do this and take pride in cleaning up litter around the school. Unfortunately we have not been able to spend much time on it as we were still completing our previous kit, but it has certainly had a huge impact and and raised the students awareness of the negative results of plastic waste and what it is doing to our oceans and precious sea life.

This topic was a fantastic one for our students to participate in as it channeled directly into our inquiry topic: How will you shape the oceans of your future? We cleaned up 3 areas within our community: our school grounds, the shared grounds of an apartment complex across the road from our school and a local reserve.

My class were hooked with this kit. Particularly the first part where they had to make a mock river and then watching the 2 videos about ocean confetti and the islands of rubbish around the world. They were motivated to make a difference. Our clean up was a big success and some children that were absent on the day were so disappointed that they didn't get to take part. We learned about which rubbish was most prominent in our area - plastic. And discussed what we can do to reduce this waste. Thanks for a fabulous kit to finish off the year with.

This kit really inspired room 2 learners at Park Estate School. It helped us to understand the harm that leaving plastics on the ground can cause to the sea - even when you're not on a coast line. We enjoyed cleaning up our local park and were surprised at what we found. thanks

We used the sea cleaners kit as a school clean up. We researched our local waterways and what aquatic life used our creeks, inlets and oceans. We linked it to our term unit about 'our future selves' and being Kaitiaki of our environment. The real eye opener for the Tamariki was the amount of lunch packets!!! We are taking this a step further next year with a real sustainability focus in 2020. We will use the Sea cleaners concept again! Thank you for the awesome kit. Sorry no photos : (

We thoroughly enjoyed this kit and all of the authentic learning opportunities it provided for us. We were so grateful for the gloves and to be able to make a positive impact in our own school environment. We could not believe the amount of rubbish we picked up and the children were so proud that it wouldn't make its way into our oceans. Thank-you School Kit for another wonderful and thoughtful kit! We are so LUCKY to have had the chance to participate.

We used this kit with Year 1/2's and did a rubbish clean up around our school and our neighbouring park/stream area. The kit was the perfect resource for Term 4 as we had already had a focus on water science earlier in the year and this fitted well with our sustainability/technology focus. We made the rubbish into posters and wrote letters to all the other classes in our school to help share the message to 'keep our sea rubbish free'. This was my first experience with a school kit and it was great. Will definitely be keeping my eye out for kits for next year. Thank you!
