This is a fabulous kit and a wonderful opportunity for students to show Manaakitanga for a community event. We visited a local retirement home, made morning tea, sang Carols, made Christmas cards and read to the elderly residents. It was a beautiful and joyful experience for all.

Sorry, but I didnt get to use it with my class - I have stored the kit to be used next year and add to the resources of the department - we find that we can dip in and out of Kits and they supplement the teaching and learning programme of our existing units.

The volunteer kit was fantastic as it really motivated the children to help out the community. Having set roles and responsibilities along with stylish badges really set the class up to give it their best and know what they were supposed to be doing. The kit made volunteering fun & purposeful.

Really great at motivating children to get involved. The advent of Cyclone Gabrielle this year as it made a real life situation where everyone did their bit to help. Children understood how a collective group of people could have a massive impact. How everyone contributing, no matter how small the action made a huge difference.
