“We used the SVA schools kit as a tool to help our students plan and prepare for an afternoon helping clean up at the local cemetery after a wild storm. We found it a really useful kit to plan and prepare students for the afternoon. It made life easy as everyone understood what they were required to do on the day. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone who wants students to lead and take responsibility for themselves”

“We have used the SVA Schools kit at our kura before and has been a continuous highlight of the year. We were delayed for our project to come to fruition last year, so we did it at the beginning of this year. We had a beach clean-up with native planting and kai and it was a fantastic effort for our two senior classes!”

They contacted SPCA to find out where their greatest need was at this time of year, so they could target those needs accordingly. Our students rallied

“This was an amazing resource. My students really enjoyed the opportunity to be part of a student -lead volunteer project from beginning to end. They gained a lot of insight into 'how much work' was needed to successfully complete their project, and realised that each person played a significant role. This project was very successful in engaging the class, and reminding them that collaborating was imperative to reach their agreed goal of fundraising to support their targeted community group. Thank you for creating an awesome opportunity for our students to experience, and grow from this Student Volunteer Project!”

“We finished Term 4 with the SVA kit. It was, as usual a wonderful kit. Our senior school volunteered to help in our local ‘Mangemangeroa Reserve’. This beautiful coastal reserve has many native plants and our year 5 and 6 students helped by removing the tree protectors. We have helped for the last 5 years so the protectors removed were from trees planted by our seniors 4 or 5 years ago. Thank you School Kit.”
