“We used the SVA Volunteer Kit as a springboard to creating an awareness campaign about a threat to our local environment. Students were motivated by the story of the SVA and this infomed thier inquiry. The kit involved rich learning and helped the students to think about how to create a volunteer orgnisation. The awareness campaign was presented as either a documentary or website. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you.”

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We visited Cantabria rest home and hospital, performing for them and playing cards and other games with them. We left them with smiles on their faces, and on the faces of our tamariki. It was an important thing for our tamariki to see what different people in our community have to cope with and to be more mindful of the needs of others.
