“I bought the SMARTCHARGE 6 because I noticed that its dimensions were the same as those for the SC8, whereas the SC4 is smaller and its reviews suggest it may be less robust.
Would have given it 5* if it told you which of the 9 stages of charging it was on. It knows, so why not tell the user?”
“The Ring SmartCharge 906 does the job well. However, I have a couple of issues, which stopped me giving 5* rating.
The device connection cables use a proprietary plug and socket and you can't buy an extension cable or the plugs and sockets to make your own extention.
Secondly, given the charger/maintainer has an automatic 9 stage charging capability, each stage operating depending on the battery condition being charged, the LCD screen doesn't indicate what stage is in process, just the battery voltage. Missed opportunity I'd say.”
“I bought this as I had a flat battery, which I wanted to recharge and maintain until the new one arrived.
Very pleased with the charger and maintainer and would highly recommend”
“My '900 Series 6A Smart Battery Charger & Maintainer' is a delight.
The connectors have been updated, so they feel more secure when you chose between the 'Ring connections' or the 'Clamps'.
The charger is intuitive and easy to use straight out of the Box.
The only reason I didn't give this review 5*, because once this charger has been taken out of the box, connected up and used, there was no bag for storage.
I think this is an oversight by 'RING', which I'm sure they may want to address in the future, because out of the box, it now looks untidy and always in the way.”
“Bought to keep battery in fine fettle while the car is standing idle for 4-6 weeks and to compensate for short runs Simple pictorial instructions but woul have preferred some written instructions for reassurance. However, simple to set up and I seem to have managed to use without things happening that shouldn’t, so for a reasonably priced smart charger, what’s not to like.”
“Used straight out of the box and recharged the battery over 24 hours. The pictorial instructions were a little cryptic and I still am not sure of the maintenance rules. A page of simple written instructions would be useful.”
