Thanks for your feedback! The consistency is harder to ensure that the balm doesn't melt during transit. To help with the application process, we recommend first breaking the surface of the balm by applying pressure with your thumbs. Once you break the surface, rub a small amount between your fingers and then apply to the desired area. An updated formula will be released later this year. I'm very sorry to hear about your experience with our Prebiotic Pet Balm! This product was actually designed this way to help melting in transit. We advise using your thumb to apply pressure to the center of the balm and breaking the surface. Many have this to work well but if this isn't the case for you, then another method is running a metal spoon under warm water and scooping out the desired amount then applying it your pet's paws.
