“After prolonged searching, The Steve use the only manageable compression stocking doffer suitable or I think even available. It is plastic, but very sturdy. The adjustability of the handles make it ideal. I made my own video for my mother to follow, so she wasn't always having to watch through the contribution and the donning. She needed the small ring for doffing, which was her greatest difficulty. The small 'slip shoe' for donning was therefore a bit small for trying to don the stocking, as her ankle is very stiff and her foot very swollen, but she also found it very slippy, and a bit tricky trying to get the stocking on and keep it on the black plastic. Also, her fingers wouldn't manage to interchange the components due to weakness from arthritis and poor feedback from Raynauds' neuropathy so we left it as a Doffer only. We are happy with this.
She has another more open bigger model for donning a stocking if she needs it, but usually she manages the pair on ok. A tip: with her ankle immobility and swollen feet, was to wriggle the ribbed top edge of the stocking up a bit, so the point of the toe can be seen clearly under the heel line, and then her toes didn't get jammed in the hem, preventing the successful donning of the entire below knee stocking.”
