The Sunfood Difference™
These delectable pitted Peruvian Herbed Black Botija olives are packed with nutrition and beautifying oleic acid, a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat.
Our certified organic, fully raw, and naturally ripe Botija olives are hand selected, sea-salt cured, and low-temperature dried for an extraordinary olive experience. Many black olives are picked long before they are ripe, then artificially softened and darkened with a chemical treatment. We prefer pure olive flavor; no chemicals, no preservatives.

These olives are unlike anything you've ever eaten. Plump, juicy, salty, herby, umami. If you love olives, give em a try.

I like them but not everyone would. Ok if you don't mind the salt. Would like more information on why this type is better.

We love the black Botija. It’s delicious and moist. Better yet it’s organic. Thanks.

When I researched olives and found these, I learned about the olives I had been eating...that they were, most likely, harvested before fully ripened and chemicalized to speed the process...in the interest of "the bottom line." Not only are these olives ethically grown but they are the most delicious olives I have ever eaten. I am someone who has always loved fermented foods: pickles, sauerkraut, mustard! These olives, these herbed black olives, have become a necessary luxury, though I am sure they do have nutritional value as well. The flavor, the delicacy, of these...we only allot ourselves two a day, taking tiny bites throughout the dinner meal--which is all we need to add the spark to whatever other vegetables we are eating. These olives are the bottle of wine we don't ever buy or eat...it's that kind of gourmet treat--worth every penny...special, delicious and eco-friendly!

I have been buying the regular Black Botija olives from Sundfood but decided to try the herbed one & I'm glad I did. The added herbs enhance the taste of the olives although I find these to be a bit more salty than their regular olives. In my picture, you can see how the salt and herbs are stuck to the outside of the olive. I adjust accordingly and when I use them in my salad, I won't sprinkle any other added sodium to it.
