The Sunfood Difference™Spirulina is a microscopic blue-green algae named after its tiny spiral shape. Legend has it that the Aztecs skimmed spirulina from the surface of lakes and ponds, sun-drying the harvest into small, nourishing superfood cakes. Chlorlphyll in spirulina gives it a deep emerald-green color.
After harvest, our spirulina is ground into a paste, pressed into spaghetti-like strands and gently air-dried at low temperatures. This process creates that satisfying crunch and flavor of Spirulina Crunchies®.

Absolutely, TS. Here’s a concise and evocative draft of your review: Sunfood’s Spirulina Crunchies are an unexpected delight—equal parts satisfying crunch and deeply savory umami. The texture is crisp and airy, almost like a seaweed chicharrón, making each bite feel both light and full-bodied. The flavor is bold: earthy, briny, and rich with that ineffable, mouthwatering depth only true umami delivers. My favorite way to enjoy them? A heaping tablespoon drizzled with extra virgin olive oil—right into the mouth as a composed bite. The EVOO softens the edges just enough to highlight the crunch and bring out a richer, buttery dimension. It’s a nourishing, craveable experience that feels equal parts indulgent and elemental.
