“Equivalent bags of this coal could be bought (10kgs) at £3.99 leading into last winter but now the stores selling them i.e. Home Bargains, B &M, Lidl etc are selling at £6.50+ so to be able to buy bulk from The Coal House averaging at £5 per 10kgs is a bonus. My Wife’s first impression was that the quality wasn’t as good but I think that was a bit premature. I don’t know where our coal is sourced from nowadays but if you are still reliant on coal it is now a very expensive commodity.”
“The coal is exactly what we ordered. The delivery was a little less so, the driver was not prepared for the weight and his electric pallet truck caused the pallet to split and tip on the lorry. Four or five 20kg bags toppled off the pallet. He then had to offload the bags of coal one at a time, with my help.
With hindsight, it was probably better to offload the coal this way as I don’t think the tail lift was level enough and would have probably tipped the coal all over the pavement splitting the bags upon impact, then we really would have been in an awful mess.”
