“I have to say I am a little disappointed with VIPA. The ordering process was easy, the delivery was well packaged, and it came on time. In terms of design, the new wiper blades matched those on my wife's Skoda Citigo. The real test came when I tried to fit them. The backwindscreen wiper fitted perfectly, but both of the front wipers have been manufactured about 1.5mm too wide on both sides at the point where they are meant to slip into the metal sleeve on the wiper arm. As my wife needed replacements as a matter of urgency, I was forced to modify the blades sent by VIPA, and they now fit. However, customers should be have to undertake a modification like this.
This could have been a one-off, but no, I had also ordered new wiper blades for my Peugeot 2008. Again, the right design, but the arm of the wiper blades is also about 1-2 mm too thick on both sides and will not fit into the metal sleeve. I will be returning these blades as their design prevents reprofiling. I have learnt my lesson, in future I will stick to buying parts from the car manufacturer. This problem could easily have been addressed if some real-world checks had been undertaken.”
