“The location from both Galveston and the beach are great. The home is very worn down and could use a lot of work. For example the fan in the kitchen was covered in dust, not something I would want to turn on around my food. Disappointed that there was no hand soap in the bathrooms/kitchen. Kitchen lacked basic supplies like cutting boards. Washer and dryer are very small. The lock on the double front door would not work, so was unlocked when we arrived and couldn’t be locked anytime we left.”

“The house needs an outdoor shower! The hose bib handle is broken and my nephew cut his hand while turning it off. The mold in the master tub is horrible and should be cleaned asap. The refrigerator door is missing parts which greatly reduces the storage space. The deck has raised nails that penetrate shoes or flip flips even though signs are posted to wear shoes on the deck. Try screwing it down instead of nailing it down.”

“We checked in on a Sunday, and our first impression was meh. There was a weird smell and the fridge and entire kitchen was janky. The furniture was questionable and we couldn’t get the balcony door open. But hey, we are 30 yards from the beach, it’s not all bad. But when the house didn’t get above 85 degrees we decided that it could actually get worse. I called several times and got VM. We were up all night sweating. All we could is use cold wet towels to help cool us off. I called twice again the only morning and didn’t get anything but voicemail. So at that point I booked a hotel room so we could move there and cool off and get some sleep. Not to long after they called and said they would have someone over later to look at the AC. Far too late, we’d already spent a night in hell and shelled out money for a new place. I’ve since asked for a refund to compensate, at least for the two days we didn’t stay and have not received anything. Not a call. Not an email. Nothing. I paid $2821.00 to stay bon a hot, sweaty shack. Plus was out $1800 for a hotel. Don’t stay here. Don’t rent from Ryson.”

“Overall the stay was good however, there a few things I'd like to mention. 1. When we arrived, there was a maintenance man cleaning out the little storage room under the house and it took him a couple of hours to do that. He was hauling trash out while we were unloading and trying to get our stay started. He left all of the trash at the edge of the road but it looked very unpleasant. Perhaps next time, you can schedule something like that before the guests arrive. 2. The house was a little dated and the couches were pretty old. 3. The faucets in the bathrooms were flipped so when you turned on the cold, it came out very hot and vice versa. 4. A huge rainstorm came in during the day and the water was coming in through the front deck patio doors. We had to put towels to dry off the floor and to keep the water from coming in. 5. One of those nights, there was a strong wind and as the wind blew there was a howling noise coming through the top of those same patio doors. The noise of the wind woke us up and kept us up throughout the night. Perhaps some maintenance on those doors to reinforce it will help. 6. Mattresses were pretty hard/firm and not as comfy as one would like.”
