“These filters don't appear to filter at all. When priming the filters, water flows straight through with no resistance whatsoever. This is very different to the Berkey original filters where you have to force the water through the filters with significant effort and it's clear there is resistance / filtration. When you shake these filters before priming, you can hear the reduction elements shaking around (sounds like a child's rattle), and it appears as though the filters are only partially filled with reduction elements. In contrast, when you shake the original Berkey filters, there is no sound, so I assume the reduction elements in the filter are a greater volume or denser and packed more tightly, thus one can only assume are likely more effective.”
