To be honest; I do not deserve a grill this NICE! And my cooking skills are nowhere close to be deserving of such a quality grill! But I bought it anyways! As others have stated... it's a tank, and will probably outlive me. To my very novice eye, the one thing that stands out to me, is how evenly this grill cooks! With my old grill, there was always a 'more done side'. I.E. Burnt side! But the Yoder produces evenly cooked golden goodness every time! Pretty much everything the Yoder is advertised as... it is, and completely lives up to the hype! A super versatile cooking machine!! I have had 'Zero' issues or problems. Even the instructions are top notch! Clear, concise and very easy to follow and understand! I bought the YS480, because I only cook for small groups, 4 peeps max. Plenty big enough for my needs. I honestly cannot not even think of a single 'Nit Pick' negative thing to point out? The Grill ROCKS, just buy one! Jon

I have owned a YS480 for 7 years now, great product. This will outlast any other smoker/grill you can possibly buy. I had to replace the control module after about 5 years of service - replacement was easy and I was back in business with a roughly $100 part.. I have a cheap wood pellet smoker for my everyday use. The YS480 is big enough to feed 30 people - with the optional upper grate I can get 8 racks of baby backs laying down. If you remove the upper rack, it is big enough to smoke 2 decent sized turkeys. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to upgrade their smoking capabilities.

This is an amazing product. It replaced a cheap gas grill that didn't even last a year before being completely rusted out. This thing with the grill grates is versatile, and everything that has come out of it has tasted amazing. If you want to step up your grilling/smoking game don't even think about it. Get this.

This is a very nice and heavy duty smoker. It imparts a very light Smokey flavor. This is perfect for me. If you like a heavy Smokey taste, you may want to consider stick burner.

This was a retirement gift to myself. Got tired of getting up every two or three hours during the night to stoke the old sidebar smoker. I debated getting the YS480 and the YS640 and decided that the 480 would be big enough for our family gatherings yet while still working for the wife and I. So far I have smoked Brisket, St. Louis Ribs, Pork Butts and Chicken and all have come out perfectly tender, smokey, juicy and down right delicious. I have also baked a pineapple upside down cake using the top rack. The pecan smoke added a wonderful flavor to the cake. With the standard 480 I have been able to smoke 4 racks of St. Louis ribs, a full packer brisket and a large pork butt all at the same time with some room to spare. That was easily enough food to feed the 16 or so people we had for dinner. While I know I could use the 480 as a grill I already owned a Weber Summit natural gas grill. My now standard steak cooking method is to start the 480 and set it to 350 degrees. About 10 minutes later I fire up the Summit. Season the steaks with my house blend of Kosher salt, fresh ground black pepper, garlic salt and lemon pepper. I then sear the steaks on the Summit until I get a nice sear on both side. They immediately go into the 480 to be finished to an internal temp of about 138. They then go onto a heated SS platter and loosely covered with a double layer of aluminum foil for 10 minutes. Great sear, juicy and with just the right amount of smoke flavor.
