“Overall, I love the American craftsmanship. However, when I received my pellet smoker, the front shelf was not level and had a downward slope. Yoder sent me a replacement, which was even worse. In fairness to Yoder though, the replacement package arrived about as beat up as possible. I would not have signed for the package, except the driver got in and out before I realized it! Therefore, I am 0 for 2 with the front shelf. It appears well built otherwise, and the app is easy enough to use. At this price point though, a larger hopper would have been a nice addition. In my experience thus far, I go through more than 20 pounds of pellets for a low and slow cook. (I realize the pellets may contribute as well to the speed of the burn.) Finally, the clearance using the top shelf is limited. I tried putting a pork shoulder on the top shelf, and it pressed between the top of the grill and the grate, obviously not ideal. If the meat is very thick at all, smoking the meat on the top shelf is problematic. Overall, I’m happy with the unit, although there is room for improvement.”

“I first purchased the YS640S about 3 years ago after doing a lot of research on different pellet grills. After I decided to make the purchase I never looked back. My 640 did everything and more from cold smoking, hot and fast smoke and over the flame cooking. After 3 years I finally out-grew my 640 and upgraded to the YS1500S! This beauty gives me the capacity to handle everything I need at home and for large gatherings. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!”

“I purchased the YS1500 on early 2018 and i can say without hesitation that this is the best pellet smoker on the market! I use it to operate my bbq food truck, so it gets used 6 days a week 12 hours a day EVERY WEEK FOR 5 years. I upgraded to the newer ACS control box so i can keep track of/adjust my temps without even getting out of bed late at night. The 20# hopper will last an entire cook during the summer months and about 30# of pellets during the cold months for roughly a 10-12 cook. I promise you will not be disappointed with the purchase of this unit. You know the saying buy it cheap buy it twice. Stop wasting your money on these thin 100 pound units and get yourself an american made tank of a smoker that WILL stand the test of time!”

“So I have owned this nearly 3 years and I can say that I have put it through it's paces. I have HUNDREDS of cooks on it and it's an amazing BEAST. It's built well and holds temps so good. The smoke flavor is fantastic and clean tasting. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't get a GREAT smoke flavor off of a pellet smoker. I did have the thermocouple go bad fairly quick but I called yoder and a tech got on the phone, face timed me on his own phone to help diagnose it and had the part overnighted to me and even facetimed me to help install it. AMAZING customer service.”

“I bought my YS1500 (#18334) at the Fiery Foods Festival in ABQ, NM in 2015. It has performed flawlessly and is still as beautiful as the day it was loaded into my F-350...what a load! I upgraded to the ACS last year which was straightforward and works great. It's good exercise dragging the smoker out of my garage to the patio. Simply said, I love it.”

“I’ve owned this smoker for over two years now and it has been my favorite cooker since I took possession. That being said I had an issue with the thermocouple. I contacted customer service, and they sent a new thermocouple overnight to me under their three year warranty. This was the easiest, smoothest warranty claim I’ve ever dealt with. The smoker and the company gets 5 stars from me!”
