“As someone that grew up in the south of Brazil, where charcoal and wood direct heat barbecuing is king, this grill is perfect! I love the large factor, as I can be grilling something on one side, while resting on the other; or nursing a strong fire on one side and moving the embers when ready to the other. I can feed people for hours with this (in the usual Brazilian bbq style of continuously bbqing all day hehe). I have done grilling on grates, grilling using metal skewers, and everything in between. But a great bonus: this beast of a grill can do really well as an offset smoker too, especially if you add gaskets around the lid. I've done 4 big racks of beef ribs at once on it for 4 hours. Of course it's not the same as a regular offset like their Cimarron but very very doable with great results. The style of the lid is also helpful as you don't need to open the whole lid just to check on things as you don't lose as much heat. Anyways: I highly recommend this grill. If you take care of it you will have a great grill for life. I have posted a lot of photos and some videos on Instagram with it - @nzthiago”

“I bought the 24X48 Flattop to be a secondary grill to my Yoder YS1500. It took me about a year to pull the trigger. My only regret was not buying it sooner. The heat management, coal bed, versatility and overall capabilities are incredible. Pro's are no question the size, the ability to do indirect and direct cooking easily, you can easily smoke on one side with wood if you choose, heat management was amazing. I was able to run 225 with very little temp swings for 9 hours. Recommendations (not cons) if you are going to smoke buy some high heat gasket tape and seal in hinged areas. it helps with the air gaps. not needed but it does seal it nicely, if you smoke make sure you use one side with charcoal this allows you to add wood and fuel if needed without disturbing your cook becasue you have to take the grates off to add. Overall this is an amazing grill that I would recommend to anyone! I now use this more then my 1500 but love them both! Well done Yoder!”
